Judge D. Steven Williams was appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One by Governor Ducey in 2019.

Steve graduated cum laude from Arizona State University, where he was a Maroon & Gold Scholar Athlete and a member of the men’s wrestling team. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Arizona State University College of Law.

Immediately prior to his appointment to the Court of Appeals, Steve was serving as a Judge Pro Tempore in the Apache County Superior Court, as well as on the Navajo County Board of Supervisors. He has served as a municipal court judge and as a member of the state-wide governing board of the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission. Steve began his legal career with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office before spending a decade in private practice. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Naval Reserves after serving active duty.
