Judge Veronika Fabian was appointed to the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division 1, on May 15, 2025 by Governor Katie Hobbs. Judge Fabian graduated from Cornell University in 1990 and received her juris doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School in 1993.

After graduating from law school, Judge Fabian went to work for DNA-People’s Legal Services, a private non-profit legal services organization, in Window Rock, Arizona, the capital of the Navajo Nation. Judge Fabian lived and worked on the Nation for three and a half years. She then transferred to the DNA office in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she continues to live today. From 1996 to 2003, she was the Director of DNA’s Consumer Law Project. At the end of her tenure, Judge Fabian won the Sharon A. Fullmer legal aid attorney of the year from the Arizona State Bar. After leaving DNA, she became a partner in the law firm of Choi & Fabian PLC with offices in Flagstaff and Chandler, Arizona, where she worked until her appointment in 2025. The Arizona Bar Foundation has twice named her as one of the fifty top pro bono attorneys in Arizona.

Before her appointment, Judge Fabian practiced primarily in the areas of consumer protection law and personal injury law. She has argued in the Navajo Nation Supreme Court, Arizona Court of Appeals, Arizona Supreme Court, and Ninth Circuit. She has done both bench and jury trials in the Navajo Nation Court, Arizona Superior Court, and New Mexico District Court.

Judge Fabian was appointed by the Arizona Supreme Court to serve on the Committee on Civil Rules of Procedure for Limited Jurisdiction Courts and the Committee on Civil Justice Reform. Since 2018, Judge Fabian has served and currently chairs the Arizona State Bar Civil Practice and Procedure Committee.

Judge Fabian served on the board of directors for the William E. Morris Institute for Justice from 2017-2025. She has also previously consulted with and assisted the Civil Litigation Clinic at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
